Once again Camp Unalayee will be offering families
an opportunity to visit the camp and spend family time camping in a cooperative community atmosphere.
Friday, July 26th - Friday, July 30 and Tuesday, August 17th to Saturday, August 22nd.
Who: Campers from age 4 months to 80 years young
What: As much activity or leisure as a camper would want.
Just like Unalayee's program for children, the Family Days program is centered on simple outdoor living.
There is no electricity or indoor plumbing. Our showers are solar. Everyone helps with the chores.
The program is very low key. We provide meals, basic camp activities, equipment and the facilities.
Families can bring a tent or sleep under the stars.
While families are at Camp Unalayee they can hike, swim, fish, play and relax in the mountains
together. Our staff will be available to lead activities every day, such as rock climbing, canoeing and
boating, nature exploration hikes, lakeside sports, arts and crafts, and archery.
July Program: Families will cook over wood fires and eat in small groups (like our regular session
campers).
During the July Family Days we will be working on some big projects, and have a work exchange
program for those who want to come up and pound some nails.
August Program: Everyone cooks at a central location and eats together in a big group. With an extra
day there is more time for some long day hikes to visit some of the Trinity Alps' prettiest alpine lakes.
If you would like to take an overnight hike with your family we will outfit you with food and
backpacking equipment. The family overnight hike is optional. Many alpine lakes are perfect for family
